Lily E Morris, a long-time Fontana resident, passed away July 31, 2017 at Western Healthcare in Colton after a short illness. She was 101 years of age.
She was born February 21, 1916 in Maple, Wisconsin to Matt and Hilma Wisti.
She worked as a waitress, housekeeper, telephone operator, as well as in defense industry manufacturing during the 1930's and 1940's.
Her marriage to Eino Carvala in Superior, Wisconsin in 1950 ended with his passing in 1952.
In 1955 Lily married James Morris in Fontana at First Lutheran Church and they became active members....

Lily E Morris, a long-time Fontana resident, passed away July 31, 2017 at Western Healthcare in Colton after a short illness. She was 101 years of age.
She was born February 21, 1916 in Maple, Wisconsin to Matt and Hilma Wisti.
She worked as a waitress, housekeeper, telephone operator, as well as in defense industry manufacturing during the 1930's and 1940's.
Her marriage to Eino Carvala in Superior, Wisconsin in 1950 ended with his passing in 1952.
In 1955 Lily married James Morris in Fontana at First Lutheran Church and they became active members. She was also a long-time member of the Sunny Hour Club in South Fontana, she was the club's last surviving member. She was active in the activities of her children and in Fontana senior citizen organizations.
Lily is remembered as someone who was always modest, calm, and without complaint. She most enjoyed time with family and friends.
She is survived by her son, John (Janice Hom) Carvala , and their son, Kinen Carvala, nieces and nephews, and longtime friends, Sylvia Bloxham and Judy Pick. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, James Morris, and a son, Richard Carvala.
A visitation will be held at Green Acres Memorial Park Chapel at 11715 Cedar Ave in Bloomington, CA from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday August 12. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. at Green Acres Memorial Park, 11715 Cedar Ave in Bloomington. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Lutheran Church, 9315 Citrus Avenue, Fontana, CA 92335.
